Everyone wants top placement for their website but very few understand how to get it. Keyword research is perhaps the single most important thing you can do to achieve this goal. KEYWORDS SECRETS

1 – Pick one or two keywords or phrases only to go after on the various pages of your website. When selecting keywords 95% of the web world tries to think of every single,possible keyword that people will type in to find them and they try to go after all of them all on every page of their site. And guess what? If you go after every one of them the only thing I can promise you is that you will do well on none of them.
2 – Use that single keyword or phrase in your Meta Title, your Meta Description and your Meta Keywords.
3 – Make sure that as a percentage of text that keyword makes up 3% - 8% of the text on your page. You can do this simply if you write your text in Word and then under “Tools” use the word count function. Some people will tell you that 8% is a high keyword incident rate but I have never had a problem with this and I have several top ten sites where my main keyword is used at this frequency that have been up for more than 5 years.
4 – Make sure that your primary Keyword is also used as a title for your page and that H1 tags are used. I also like to make them bold. Not all my sites have the title in the middle of the page at the top but starting at the top going from left to right, I always make sure that my Keyword is the first thing that would be logically read and that it’s emphasized.
5– Make sure your site architecture and link structure is valid and easy for the robots to navigate.
6– Don’t waste a lot of time getting low value links to your site. I have found that having hundreds of page rank 3 or below links pointing at your site does virtually nothing for placement (and frequently harms it). Once everyone started doing this (adding hundreds of links) Google realized that this was no longer an accurate determinant of perceived public value and I have to agree. Get links, but just a couple of high page rank ones are worth far more than hundreds of crap ones.
7 – Make your site rich with valuable content. If your site provides real value on the content side this will always be desirable. Understand, Google and Yahoo are forever trying to maintain the integrity of their search results because they know that if searchers get nothing but garbage when they search, then they will stop using Google. So whenever Google makes a change in their placement algorithm it is always with an eye towards maintaining the integrity of their search results.
8 - Don't host your site on junk, shared hosting sites that may also be hosting garbage sites. This server address may be getting penalized by the search engines. Shared hosting is fine but use a reputable company that hosts good sites and not just parked advertising sites.
